‘NOT to HURT’

Not to hurt our humble brethren (the animals)

Is our first duty to them, but to stop there is not enough.

We have a higher mission:

To be of service to them whenever they require it.

This page is dedicated to all the animals who I have shared my life with over the years, and also to the people who have helped me learn about animals. In particular I would like to thank Sylvia Durrant of ‘Bird Care’- (the “bird lady” of Auckland’s Rothesay Bay), for her help with my Magpie ‘Stevie’. To Letitia and her family, who have always taken ‘Stevie’ into their care whenever we have needed to “get away” for a holiday, and to Elaine (our tenant, who comes and feeds ‘Stevie’ quite often) …also to our Veterinarians; Lynfield Vet Clinic in Auckland, (specialising in birds), and Dr. Bob’s (-our local vet). Thanks too to my family; – Stuart for ’sharing’ me, (and his apples!!), …and to my daughters (Mary & Emma), who have sometimes had to clean-up more than just their own rooms!
