We share an historical overview on this West Auckland wine tour, as our family were some of this region’s early pioneers, settling here in 1922. We know much of the history surrounding the development of this area’s vineyards with Croatian immigrants that progressed from making ‘backyard’ Port and Sherry to the manufacture of multi-award winning Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, and Merlot wine varieties.

We have access to the expert advice of the staff of many of the wineries for wine tasting, and some of these wineries include:

Soljans Estate Winery – as from 30 June 09 $5 per person wine-tasting fee. If with dining, there is a $2.50 per person fee.

West Brook Winery

OTHER THINGS TO DO in West Auckland include a visit to our sheep farm and historical Homestead, or a New Zealand cuisine experience at ‘BeesOnline’ Honey Centre and Cafe, or a visit to the world-famous Gannet colony and Muriwai Beach.
