‘HELP THE PLANET’ by planting a tree

We wanted to provide our tourists with more of a ‘visitor experience’ when it came to offsetting their carbon emissions, and we wanted this to also benefit our LOCAL community

It is an opportunity to purchase & plant a tree from our nursery.

By planting a tree, you will be able to help offset the carbon emission made on your trip, thereby helping the Planet.

During the Coast to Coast Eco-tours there will be carbon emissions going into the atmosphere. Carbon is one of the things that is thought to be contributing to global warming. It is known that trees can remove this carbon from the air, for as the tree grows it stores carbon into its wood. NZ Native hardwood trees are very good at doing this.

Statistics aren’t precise, but it is estimated that one tree can absorb anywhere upto 48lbs of carbon per year, and release enough oxygen back into the atmosphere to support 2 human beings!

(That is; approximately 1 tonne of carbon is absorbed per acre of trees, per year)

Part of our farm’s Forest Reserve (upper region, this has water!)

… You choose a number for your tree; (a UV-stabilised tag),

and you will receive a certificate;

Your tree will be totally protected forever by our Local NZ Government Law which will prohibit anyone cutting it down.

Later on, your tree will be planted out into our own farm’s Forest Reserve.
We are in effect ‘donating’ parts of our sheep farm back to Nature.
It is our aim to re-plant these areas to how the original bush was prior to early farmland development.
